A week without weather issues

Things are fairly calm around the United States and in Mexico this week with no major weather issues to report.weat

Florida saw cold temps Sunday night into Monday morning, with Immokalee getting down to 39 early Monday morning while Belle Glade saw a low of 40 and Plant City a low of 36. Florida will warm up today and tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the warmest day of the week with Belle Glade, Immokalee and Plant City experiencing a minimum temp of 68 and Homestead a minimum temp of 71, and highs in the 80s for all locations. On Thursday major growing regions from Plant City down to Homestead will see rain. Rain totals are expected to be between 0.5 and 0.75 inches. Homestead also has a good chance of seeing more rain on Friday.

All growing regions are expected to remain on the cool side but stable with maximum temperatures only reaching into the high 60s and low 70s, and minimum temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s at least through Wednesday, Jan. 30.

California will have a very stable climate for the next 10 days; there is no chance of rain and temperatures will be normal to slightly above normal toward the end of the week. The warming trend will begin Thursday and peak on Saturday, Jan. 26. Coachella Valley will see a high of 80 on Saturday. Santa Maria will reach 75 on Saturday while Oxnard will get up to 72. Bakersfield is expected to have a maximum temp of 72 on Saturday and Visalia 67. By Monday, Jan. 28 temperatures will be back to normal.

In Mexico, Culiacan will see normal conditions for the next 10 days. Tonight will actually be the coldest night out that period with a minimum temp of 48. The remainder of next 10 days will see maximum temps in the mid- to upper 80s and minimum temps in the lower to mid-50s.

The state of Michoacán will have clear skies and maximum temps mostly in the 70s and minimums in the 40s for the next 10 days. Zamora, Michoacán will actually see high temps reach into the lower 80s for the next five days. Supplies of strawberries out of this region of Mexico should continue to increase with this good weather.

The states of Guanajuato, Puebla, Queretaro and Zacatecas are all experiencing great weather right now with maximum temps in the mid- to upper 70s and lows in the mid-40s. Perfect weather for wet veg items is coming from these areas. These temperatures will continue at least for the next 10 days.

Honduras and Guatemala also are experiencing ideal weather. Maximum temps are in the mid- to upper 90s, and minimums in the mid-60s in Guatemala and in the 70s in Honduras. Honeydews and cantaloupes are coming from these countries right now along with some green beans in Guatemala. Expect volumes on melons to increase with the hot weather in these regions. Panama is experiencing high temps in the low 90s and minimum temps in the low 70s. Watermelons are coming from Tabasara, Panama right now.
