Fresh Connections: Floral Miami is slated for July 13

The first Produce Marketing Association Fresh Connections: Floral event was held in Miami in 2015. On July 13, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the combination of education sessions and networking breaks known as Fresh Connections: Floral will return to Miami once again.

Attendees will include floral growers, importers, exporters and wholesalers, floral buyers from major grocery chains and retail, potted plant growers, importers and exporters, floral industry solution providers and industry association representatives.

Education sessions will explore the impact of consumer trends on the future of floral purchases and the industry; and how the supply chain can collaborate — from breeder to retailer — to capitalize on these trends today and in the future, according to a news release.

The one-day event will also include a Career Pathways program, designed to help attract top university student talent to careers in the mass-market floral industry. That program is put on by the Center for Growing Talent by PMA, whose mission is to help the global floral and fresh produce industry attract, develop and retain talent.

In addition, there will be optional Floral Buyer Roundtables the day before, on June 12, from 3-5:15 p.m. The roundtables allow suppliers to meet one-on-one with buyers from top retail chains in brief, speed dating-like meetings. Supplier seats are still available and separate registration fees apply.

Fresh Connections: Floral Miami will close with a networking reception. Early bird registration deadline for the event is June 2.
