Coborn’s Inc. welcomes Susan DeMuth as Vickye Kleinschmidt retires from firm

Minnesota-based Coborn’s Inc. hired Susan DeMuth as its new floral category manager and she will report to Tom Williams, director of produce and floral merchandising, according to a company news release. DeMuth has 34 years of floral experience, most recently at SpartanNash in Edina, MN, where she held the position of floral merchandising manager for 10 years, overseeing the retail and wholesale floral categories for its corporately owned and independent stores.

DEMUTHSusan DeMuthDeMuth operated her own company, Bouquet Floral, out of Golden Valley, MN, and Bloomington, MN, from 1992-2007 and she was a professional designer at Bachman’s in Minneapolis from 1983-1992. She received her bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Michigan State University and she also studied at the Minnesota School of Business.

Vickye Kleinshmidt is retiring from Coborn’s after 26 years of service. Vickye built high quality floral programs for the company and worked tirelessly to help her team in the stores to execute those programs and grow sales.

A company written statement said that Kleinschmidt’s legacy would be about how much she cared about serving guests and in seeing her team be successful. It also said Coborn’s will miss the enthusiasm and passion with which she attacked each day, and the smile she got [on her face] when a program drove sales and made money.
