CalFlowers hires Deborah Erickson

The California Association of Flower Growers & Shippers has hired Deborah Erickson as the organization’s marketing director. In this newly created position, Erickson is responsible for the overall marketing and communications strategy and initiatives for the association and its membership.

Erickson received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and has a mini MBA from the University of St. Thomas/Opus College of Business.

She also completed course work in the Strategic Marketing Communications Leadership Program at Ithaca College along with Trends in Marketing Strategy at Cornell University.

She has more than 25 years of non-profit marketing experience that includes strategic marketing planning, branding, social media and media relations.

She has also served on several non-profit boards, including the Minnesota chapter of the National Association on Mental Illness, where she was board chair.

“We’re excited to have Deb on our CalFlowers’ team,” Michael LoBue, CalFlowers chief executive officer, told The Produce News.

“She brings a solid breadth of experience across different markets and industry segments that will be a strong complement to the floral industry experience of the staff and CalFlowers membership.”
