Florida near freezing, beautiful weather out West

Tonight will bring some of the coldest temps to Florida so far this winter. Plant City in the central part of the state will see minimum temp of 33 and a high of only 56. These temps shouldn’t affect the strawberries from this region but could slow production a bit. Tomorrow the minimum temp will be 48. Thursday and Friday will be a touch warmer with mins in the 50s, but by Saturday they will be back into the 40s where they will stay through next Tuesday.weat

Immokalee will see a min temp tonight of 36. Tomorrow through Friday will see min temps in the 50s but will be back into the 40s by Saturday, where they will remain through next Tuesday. Arcadia will touch 32 tonight, and even Homestead, south of Miami, will get in on the fun with a min temp of 38° tonight.

The only major growing region that will not see min temps in the 30s tonight is Belle Glade, which should stay right around 40 -- or above.
