Juana Gomez promoted to newly created position at Monterey Mushrooms

montereymushrooms Juana Gomez has been promoted to the newly created position of Chief People and Culture Officer with Monterey Mushrooms.

Gomez spent 22 years at Earthbound Farm, one of the world’s leading organic food brands working her way up from farm stand clerk to vice president of human resources and was part of the leadership team at Scaroni Family of Cos.

Gomez holds an A.S. in accounting from Cabrillo College, a Bachelor’s in business administration with an emphasis in HR from SJSU, and an MBA from CSUMB.  She is passionate about children, education, and inspiring others to shoot for the stars.  Gomez has been involved in community outreach from a young age.  At 19, she managed a voter registration drive for the League of Women Voters. She has served as an election officer for the Santa Cruz County Elections Department and was elected to multiple leadership roles at Alianza Charter School in Watsonville.  

Currently, she’s an active board member of Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance, the Business Advisory Council at CSUMB, and is the team captain for Mush Cancer, a Watsonville Relay for Life team, raising awareness and funds in support of the American Cancer Society.

Gomez lives in the local Monterey County area with her husband and children.

She will develop strategies to attract and recruit highly talented and high potential employees and will work closely with all teams and at all levels to improve talent development, performance, and feedback across the organization.
